Shadow the last unicorn 13

They went to get Sonic who was waiting for them in the kitchen they then all began heading for the Great Hall. It was now nighttime as Amy, Sonic, Shadow with Cream on his shoulder, enters the Great Hall with Sonic holding a torch to light their way. They soon began to hear someone laughing it seemed to be coming from the pillar where the skeleton was. When they got there they saw that it was the skull laughing like a maniac. Amy was getting a bit irritated by all the skulls laughing.

"Shut up you old bag of bone! How would you like a punch in the eye!" she shouted at it. But the skull laughed even harder not the least bit intimidated by her threat.

"Amy, you made it laugh anyway, maybe that's you need for the riddle?" said Sonic trying to keep her calm as well as positive about this situation.

The skull put it's hand over it's mouth and snickered at this. "It isn't." It spoke before it began laughing some more.

"Oh, you can speak. Amy it worked." said Sonic glad that they were on the right track to finding the Red Bull's lair.

The skull laughed a little more as it began to talk. "Come on 'hahahah' ask me how to find the Red Bull 'hahaha'. Even princess Maria doesn't know the secret way, but I do." it told Amy and Sonic. While Shadow and Cream stayed a little back.

"Oh you do, huh. Then answer the riddle then, tell us the way." Amy asked the skull.

"Say please" responded the skull.

Amy let out a sigh, "please." she said.

The skull opened it's mouth and replied. "No.. no" it answered as it turned it's head away.

Sonic became upset by this. "Why not?! What kind of game is this." he barked angry that it refused to tell them what they needed to know.

The skull laugh some more as it was having fun messing with them. "Oh it's so nice to have someone to play with 'hahahaha'." it said.

Sonic and Amy looked at each other as well as Shadow and Cream not sure what to do.

"Tomorrow, try me tomorrow. Maybe I'll tell you tomorrow 'hahaha'." it reponded as it chuckled at all this.

"But we have no time! We might be too late now!" Sonic protested to the skull to make it tell them they way to the Red Bull. Before it's too late to save Shadow from becoming a mobian hedgehog forever and never save the other unicorns.

"I have time. I've got enough time for all of us 'ahaha'." The skull joked to them as it chuckled more.

"Nevermind about him give the wine. Let me see what I can do with the wine." said Amy as she turn her back to the skull and faced Sonic.

"Wine? Did you say wine! Speak up!" The skull asked as it became interested in they were saying about having wine.

"I couldn't find any, I looked everywhere." Sonic told Amy with saddened look as he began to take some water out of his cloak pocket. "I looked! I thought if you had some water to started with." The skull interrupted him by bursting into laugher at this.

"Hahahaha, her turn water into wine 'hahaha'." It scoffed as it continued to laugh. The skull knew that Amy wasn't much of a magician.

Amy became a little miffed at it. "Keep quiet." she snapped at it. Then turn back to Sonic. "Let me have it I'll give it a try." she said as Sonic gave her the bottle of water. Then she spoke aloud, "Now you understand it's not going to be good wine, van or oradair at that, and it'll be to sweet and...well here goes." Amy then began to do a spell with her back still facing the skull.

"What are you doing? Hey do it over here I can't see a thing." The skull whined as it was curious to see if she could really turn water into wine.

After Amy finished the spell she drank the whole bottle to see if it worked or not. "Hm didn't work." she began as held the bottle up to her nose and smelled it and continued "It's weak at best, no nose, no body, hardly any bouquet."

She was disappointed that the spell failed. "Well that's done it, that's finally done it." she said and was about to toss the bottle away when the skull stop her.

"No wait! Hey don't, don't do that! Give it to me if you don't want it, but don't throw it away." it begged her having it's bony hand out to get her to give it to him. 

Amy and Sonic were both baffled by this. "But your dead. You can't smell wine, can't taste it." stated Amy.

"But I remember." The skull replied as it began reminiscing about what wine was like.

Amy thought for a second and had idea. "Well if you should happen remember the entrance to the Red Bull's lair, as well as you remember wine." she hinted to the skull as a trade for the bottle.

"Done!" the skull agreed. "Give me one drink now and I'll tell you anything you want to know." The skull bargained.

"You can have all of it." Amy replied hold up the bottle the skull reached out, but Amy took it out of it's reach as she continued. "After you tell us the way."

"The way is through the clock." it answered pointing to the large clock that was on the other side of the room. It had demon statues in the top where the face was and a broken glass door that showed the gears, springs and pendulum, looked like some were bent and others were stuck.

"Through that?" Amy asked as she looked at the clock with a look of doubt on her face.

"You mean when the clock strikes the right time it opens and there a secret passageway on the other side?" Surmised Sonic.

"That clock will never strike the right time you just walk through and the Red Bull is on the other side. Give me the wine!" The skull replied impatiently wanting the wine now.

"Walk through a clock, huh. What am I a magician." Amy sarcastically responded.

"To reach the Red Bull you have to walk through time. A clock isn't time, it's just numbers and springs pay it no mind. Just walk right on through. About that wine." it told them. Amy then gave it the bottle and the skull began to guzzle it down even though there was nothing in it. After it finished it the skull's cheek bones somehow turn a light red. "That was the real stuff. That was wine." it stated as it chuckled a bit. "Your more of a magician then I thought." it said to Amy.

Amy then turn to the others, "Let go." she told the others and began to head to the clock.

Sonic went over to Shadow and Cream, "My lord it's time. We're going to find the others now." He told him as he began to lead Shadow to the clock. Shadow glimmer a bit in the faded light as he turn to follow the others to the clock.

When the skull saw this it realize what Shadow was and became anger. "Oh no. No you don't, not that one." it said angrily as it drop the bottle and shattered on the floor. It's eyes sockets glowed red. The group began running to the clock as the skull began shouting. "Unicorn! Breezie! Breezie unicorn! Unicorn!"

"Ruuuunnnn!" Amy shouted to the others as they soon made it to the clock.

"Breezie where are you! It's you down to the Red Bull. The clock Breezie there he goes! Unicorn, unicorn!" The skull continued to shout. Soon queen Breezie came running down the stairs and soon drew her sword when she made it down and started head towards the group that was now at the clock.

Amy looked back and saw the queen come after them. "Go on, go on through!" she urged Shadow and Cream to go through the clock quickly. Shadow and Cream went through the clock and disappear.

"Amy! I don't think-" Sonic began but Amy interrupted him by making him hurry through the clock.

"Go on!" she urged as she push him forward and took the torch out of his hand. When Sonic went through he was soon surrounded by green misty fog and couldn't see anything through it.

Back where Amy was, Breezie was soon at the clock and trying to kill Amy with her sword by swapping it right and left at her. Amy threw the torch at her hoping it would distract her long enough to get through the clock. Unfortunately it didn't, Amy ran to the other side of the of the clock where a pillar was and the Queen followed still trying to kill Amy with her sword. Breezie took another swing at her and Amy quickly duck just in time before the sword could cut off her head and the sword hit the pillar instead.

Back in the secret passageway Sonic soon found Shadow and Cream who were looking around confused. "It worked." he said as he hurried over to them to make sure they were alright.

Shadow looked over to some part of the mist and saw someone familiar coming their way. "Princess Maria!" he said in a surprise tone. Sonic and Cream look over too and saw that it was indeed the princess.

"And you would've gone without me." said Maria as she walked towards Shadow.

"I would have come back." Shadow replied as walked over to her as well. "I don't know why I'm here or who I am? But I would have come back."

Maria shook her head. "No, you would have never come back." she responded with a sad look upon her face.

"Never mind all that where's Amy!" demanded Sonic as he was worried about her as well as Cream. 

Meanwhile Amy was still trying to get to the passageway and away from Queen Breezie's sword. The Queen got ahead of her before she could reach the clock and took another swing at her. Amy quickly duck again and got around her and made her way through the clock. Breezie turned and tried one last time to kill Amy with another swap of her sword. This time she made a cut on Amy's back as she just barely made it through the clock.

Back in the passageway Sonic was still grilling Maria to tell him where Amy was. "Where is she! I'll go back myself if you won't." he barked at Maria and Shadow. He then began to walk a little to go back a get Amy.

Cream went after him. "Wait I'll come with you." she said.

Sonic nodded his head and they both went to go save their friend. They didn't get far because Amy soon appeared a little ways from them. "Amy!" Sonic and Cream cried as they rushed over to her to make sure she was ok. She staggered a bit and fell to her knees. Both Sonic and Cream got to her and saw the wound on her back she had received from Breezie's sword. It was bleeding and looked painful but luckily it wasn't deep.

"I'm alright it's not too deep." Amy reassured them so they won't worry. Amy then saw Maria. "How did you know how to get here?" she asked Maria.

"What was there to know. I saw where he had gone and I followed." she answer as she walked over and stood by Shadow's side.

Amy shook her head a little at this. Not knowing what else to say.

Back outside the passageway Breezie began to hack away at the clock. She was going to destroy the passageway so they couldn't get out the way they went in. Soon the clock toppled and fell with a great crash.

Meanwhile in the passageway the green mist began to disappear completely until the group were all in a cave like tunnel. "Breezie has destroyed the clock." deduce Amy. "Now there's no way back and no way out except the Red Bull's passage." 

The group then then began to look for the way out of passageway as well as look for the Red Bull. On the way Amy, Sonic, and Cream told Maria everything about why they really came here for and who Shadow real was.
